Within the Corporate team, you will work under the direction of the Anti-Money Laundering/ Combating the Financing of Terrorism Manager (AML/CFT) and Responsible Gaming to contribute to the implementation of the anti-money laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism system.

YOUR ROLE AT BETCLIC

In this context, your new duties are:

  • Be the MLRO for the local Financial Intelligence Unit and raise suspicious activity reports accordingly.
  • Analyze and decide alerts with Sanctions, Politically Exposed Person and Adverse Media Flag from the screening Client Database.
  • Develop and participate in the various projects related to AML/CFT (Group policies and procedures, client classification and risk-based approach, risk mapping, deployment and use of tools (profiling/filtering).
  • Prepare the various committees and KPI within the scope of AML/CFT for your local jurisdiction.
  • Organize training and awareness sessions in your jurisdiction to promote the risk of noncompliance AML/CFT to our internal partners (Fraud & Payment Teams, Compliance Officers, Customer Service…).
  • Participate to the weekly AML/CFT committee to support dedicated operational team on both process and files.
  • Ensure the review of high risk files.
  • Carry out/assist with internal and external audits and ensure the implementation and follow-up of remediation actions.
  • Perform internal control reviews on AML processes performed by the Operational team.
  • Ensure a legal watch.

  • And finally, you speak Portuguese fluently.

Legal & Compliance Counsel (Portuguese Speaking)

The Legal & Compliance Counsel will support the Legal & Compliance Manager and assist him/her in the management of legal & compliance obligations in the assigned market.

YOUR ROLE AT BETCLIC

In this context, your duties are:

  • Support in preparing responses to authorities, including regulator, police and prosecutors.
  • Support to the risk and fraud department in the identification of cases subject to suspension or account closure.
  • Supporting overall Compliance constraints, including administration and communication with regulators (e.g. preparing regulatory notifications and reports) and coordination (e.g. obtaining responses to regulatory requests for information).
  • Preparation of contracts, letters, policies, and other legal documents.
  • Analysis of legal issues that are addressed by the other departments.
  • Control of administrative routines and complaints registration, filing of documents, opening of tickets and other requests for administrative activities that are reasonably requested in connection with their activities.
  • Legal support to the other departments.
  • Intermediation and contact with the Regulator as needed.
  • Preparation of legal, privacy and jurisprudential research, as requested by the Legal Department.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR?

This job is for you if:

  • You have at least 2-4 years’ experience industry in a highly regulated industry (iGaming, Banking, Insurance, etc), either in-house or as law firm external counsel.
  • You have experience drafting/negotiating contracts, notably in for IP and marketing projects.
  • You have a sound understanding of regulatory law and contracts law.
  • You have law bachelor’s degree from a reputable law school.
  • If you have accreditation in an European BAR and/or legal profession body is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • You have excellent level of spoken and written English.
  • You are a native Portuguese speaker.
  • You have French or Polish professional knowledge (would be considered as a plus).
  • You are fully proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • You are able to conduct administrative and bureaucratic routines in a consistent and organized fashion.
  • You are capable of communicating complex issues in an objective and simple manner.
  • You are autonomous.
